Bust Store Road runs for 20 miles between Punta Gorda in Charlotte County and Cape Coral in Lee County. When I first started visiting Florida it was a two lane highway with no shoulders or lighting. As of 2022 the Charlotte County stretch has been upgraded to four lanes, as has the southern half of the Lee County stretch. Approximately five miles remain to be upgraded.
