Burnt Store Road –Residential Developments in Charlotte County – Update #1

Some of you who read my article about the new residential developments emerging along Burnt Store Road north of the Charlotte County line in the January 2024 Beacon may be curious about how those projects are progressing. The original article was based upon publicly available information in the fall of 2023. There have been a few new development proposals since then and additional information has emerged about those previously discussed. Following is a brief update.

Firelight – Phase 1:

Zemel Land Partners have submitted a plan for land they own on the north side of Zemel, east of Burnt Store Colony and touching on Burnt Store Road near the new fire hall.

Firelight – Phase 1 is concentrated in the south part of the parcel above and includes 219 homes of an eventual 999.

Coral Lakes

The development titled 2-Coral Creek-D.R. Horton in the January article has been named Coral Lakes and a subdivision plan has been submitted.

On March 19, 2024 a presentation was made to the Charlotte Board of County Commissioners providing updates on the Burnt Store Area Plan and new developments. Access at this link.
